Posting a New Point of View to An Old Point of Interest

One challenge every blogger faces — regardless of style or type of blog — is to create unique content their readers will enjoy.

And while there’s no secret trick to coming up with this content, there is something every blogger should remember, because it’s the root of why blogging became so popular and because it’s something that often triggers inspiration more than anything else — especially for personal bloggers.

Bring A New Point of View to an Old Point of Interest

The key here is to be yourself.

Share your opinions about current events, celebrities, food, politics, art, history, war, or what ever your readers might be interested in. Remembering this simple fundamental will enable you to both develop your voice as a blogger and provide your readers with unique content they’ll enjoy reading — for more on this, check out the 10 Things Readers Love About Personal Blogs.

This will also help you articulate to yourself who you are and what you believe, what you feel, and what you think.

Ask Yourself the Hard Questions.

Explore yourself and share what you find with others — don’t be afraid of offending your reader either, because as a personal blog, it’s all about you. If you’re writing for a professional blog or a blog you’d like to leverage for money, you might want to be a little more cautious here as readers are usually looking for helpful content, not offensive content.

Inviting Your Readers to Comment

One thing that might make it a little easier to wrap up your post, without writing “and that’s all I have to say about that,” might include inviting your readers to voice their opinions as well.

Think of it as a discussion.

Encourage your readers to participate — especially if they have other opinions and points of views.

The overall goal here is to bring a new voice and opinion to an older topic everyone knows about. The readership following your personal blog is probably interested in your point of view on any subject, so let ‘em have it. But again, how far you go with stating your opinion and how open you are to possibly offending a few readers is entirely up to you to risk.

How do you personally go about posting your point of view to an old point of interest — do you try to define yourself with a well-rounded collection of content or do you, do you post your opinion on matters as they arise, or do you go about it an entirely different way?
